Let Yourself Listen
I've completed work on Let Yourself Dance, the last of Rick's song I recorded in NC. Hope you like it.
<guilt>However, I do notice that no-one has taken the time to leave even one comment on the previous two songs, so I guess nobody has anything nice to say? OK, I'll let Rick know his fanbase is shrinking...</guilt> :-)

I listened to all four songs. His melodies and lyrics remind me of Peter, Paul and Mary or a much less melancholy Gordon Lightfoot. He strikes me, from the songs, as a warm person who values family. I like the guitar playing - it's no slouch who can play that smoothly and that consistently. The lyrics are good stories. Is Crossing Streets about Darcy? Bruce, nice job on the recording, mix and additions. I especially liked the harmonies on Orlando and the percussion on Let Yourself Dance. Peace - JL
It goes without saying, I love these songs. It could be that yes, "Crossing Streets" is about me, or that I love to dance, and remember Orlando & Uncle Clyde so fondly. All in all though, I love the music and the man behind the music even more.
I must say though, that I never understood the meaning of "Crossing Streets" until I was a parent myself. I used to think, "Of course I know how to cross the street.... duh". But now I know how hard it is to let go, even when your child's just going off to Kindergarten for the first time. You expressed that feeling so perfectly, Dad.
Really loved Ricky's songs. He sounds the same as he did years ago, and I find myself smiling as I listen. Loved yours too Bruce, and your other postings of the children. Thank you and keep them coming. Much love to you all.
