Driven to Distraction
So, I made oatmeal for the kids this morning. Rowan and Nessa are both sitting before steaming bowls, watching cartoons and eating - well nothing. Transfixed by television. Amelia, like the ravenous toddler she is, has eaten 20% of her oatmeal immediately and smeared the remainder in her hair. She has then proceeded, as is her habit, to scream at the top of her lungs. Presuming she wants more cereal/hair tonic, I am running to the stove to get her some more. Then Rowan comes out with one of those gems I just have to share:
"Can you make her stop? She's distracting me from not eating!". Which is clearly true, since his entire bowl of oatmeal still sits before him, untouched.
